Kiros and Kirika continued to walk away from the school, stopping by at a diner near by.
"So what school did you transfer from?" Kiros asked as soon as they sat down, his eyes instantly drawn to the menu.
"I came from some private school in California. It wasn't too bad." She said looking at the menu as well. She didn't really have any money she recalled as she saw the prices. A few minutes passed, and the waitress finally came over to them.
"So what can I get you both this afternoon?" The waitress asked as she looked at Kiros and Kirika.
"Well… I'll have the bacon cheese burger with fries and a coke." Kiros said closing the menu and noticed that Kirika was still looking at the menu. "And she'll have the cheese burger with the fries and coke too."
"Wa-wait wh-what?" She stuttered as the menu dropped and she looked over at him.
"Don't worry Kirika. It's on me, and you don't have to pay me back." Kiros said smiling lightly, and looking over at the waitress. "That'll be all for us."
"Alright thank you." The waitress said as she picked up the menus, heading back to the kitchen to deliver the orders.
"Th-thanks Kiros... But... Um... Why did you do that?" She asked looking up at him, kind of curious as to why he was going to pay for her.
"I won't let my friends starve." Kiros said laughing softly, looking over at her. "I know your hungry right now because the only thing I saw you eating was a little bit of your fries. And then those goons started that fight."
"Well..." Kirika said softly, looking down, a small smile lighting her face as she looked up at him. "Thanks again… Kiros."
"It's no problem really. Money isn't really a big problem to me really." Kiros said as the drinks came by. "Thank you." He said to the waitress as she turned and walked away.
"Thanks." Kirika said as well, taking a sip from her coke. "So um... Why exactly do Zander and Racconto hate you so much Kiros?" She asked, a little curious.
"I don't really know myself frankly. I think it just might be my very existence that they dislike the most about me... But I haven't exactly done anything wrong to them... Other then interrupting your conversation with them... By the way I’m sorry for that." Kiros said laughing a little.
Kirika laughed lightly as he stopped. "Don't worry Kiros. I think you just saved me the trouble of getting to know them. For some reason... I didn't really like them anyway." She said laughing lightly, and Kiros laughed with her.
The two continued to chat, talking about random things until they got their food. They still talked after they got their food, but about school now.
"I know! Her class is so boring and lame... It seriously puts me to sleep." Kiros said laughing a bit, looking at Kirika. "So how's the food?"
"Oh it's very good. I wished they had diners like this in California." Kirika said laughing, and returning to the subject of the Spanish teacher. They moved onto talking about other classes that he had, or that she is currently had.
They finished their food, but continued to keep on talking. School was out by this time, and Kiros' friends had come over to the diner. It was their usual hang out spot. They gathered around the table, interrupting their conversation.
"Well well. Look what the big player is up to!" Said one of his friends, and they all laughed.
Kiros looked over at them, laughing softly along with them. "Wow school ended pretty fast." Kiros said laughing again and looked over at Kirika. "Oh, these are my friends from the school.” He supplied at her questioning look. “Asiko, Serina, Miara, Zeko, and Komara.” He pointed to each on in turn. “Guys, this is Kirika." He said looking at Kirika and smiling.
"Nice to meet you all." Kirika said smiling.
"Nice to meet you too." They all said, basically simultaneously. They quickly took the available seats, having pull a few from another table to seat them all.
"Word is that you got into a fight with Racconto and Zander, and got expelled from school. Is that true Kiros?" Asiko asked, a little worried that he might lose his best friend.
Kiros burst out laughing, and Kirika followed in shortly, shaking her head. "No no, we didn't get expelled. We got suspended for it though. It's not fair... Kiros was just defending himself from an assault that Racconto started." Kirika said, her voice sounding a little annoyed.
"Like I said before, that's the school system for you. Screwing with the wrong people usually, and they don't give a crap about it." Kiros said, laughing shortly afterwards.
"So true, so true." Asiko said laughing lightly, and looking at Kirika. "So are you a student at the school too?"
"Yeah, I just transferred here from a private school in California. I'm a sophomore here." Kirika said, looking at them and smiling.
"Oh..." Miara, Serina, and Komara said, extending it out very long.
"I heard the weather over there was really nice right now." Komara said, and looked over at Miara and Serina.
"Oh my gosh, I want to go there so bad!" Miara said, almost shouting it. "Nice sandy beaches, big malls and all that good stuff!"
"Hey there are malls here." Kiros said looking at her.
"Yeah but they're not that big as the ones that are in California." Miara quickly responded, sounding just a little hostile.
Kiros, Zeko, and Asiko all burst out laugh at them before they continued to chat about things in school. The time slipped quickly by, and it was already 4pm.
"Oh my gosh! Look at the time!" Zeko exclaimed, looking at his watch. He couldn't believe it. "It's already 4pm."
"And? What? You missed your show?" Kiros asked laughing lightly.
"Oh wow... Time flies by when you’re having so much fun." Kirika said, laughing lightly too.
"Dang I missed the bus home." Komara said, looking guiltily at Serina. "Give me a ride?"
"Me too." Stated Miara.
"I need one as well." Asiko said.
"I need to get home now." Zeko said getting up. "I'll see you guys later. Bye." Everyone said their good-byes to him as he walked out of the diner.
Serina sighed and nodded. “Alright alright. I'll give you guys rides.”
"Yay!" Miara, Komara, and Asiko all yell out happily, causing them to all be thrown out of the diner for the rest of the day. But before they went they cleaned up the mess they had made together.
"So we'll see you both in 3 days or so?" Serina asked as Asiko, Miara, and Komara got in the back seat of Serina’s car.
"Yep. 3 days from now." Kiros said laughing. "I'll just be at home playing video games mostly." He said smiling.
"Alright then. See ya ‘round." Serina said, starting the car and driving off.
"I thought we were going to hang out." Kirika said, looking over at him.
"Oh don't worry. We'll do that. I was only kidding around with them." Kiros said chuckling.
"I see." Kirika said and started to walk home.
Kiros walked next to her, talking and having a great time as they returned to her house. They chatted about how the town looked. In Kiros' eyes, the town looked crappy, and should be burned down. While Kirika on the other hand thought the town was all right for now. When they got to her house, Kiros looked over at her.
"So where do we meet tomorrow?" Kirika asked before Kiros could speak.
Kiros was speechless at first, but finally chuckled.
"I don't know exactly... But um... How about that park 2 blocks away from here at 10am. It's probably the nicest thing in this part of town."
"Okay." Kirika said smiling and looked at him. "Tomorrow at that park 2 blocks from here, at 10am." She nodded continuing to smile. "Got it. So it'll be like… a date!" She said laughing and blushing lightly, looking at him still.
Kiros blushed as well, and would nod. "It'll be a date." He said laughing.
Kirika then walked away, up to the floor that she lived on, the sixth one. She entered the apartment room, humming softly to herself.
"What're you so happy about? I just got the message that you've been suspended for getting into a fight." Her older sister said angrily.
"... I didn't get into a fight Iris." She said looking up at her, sighing softly. "I was in the middle of it, and tried to break it up. The school system is screwed up..."
"Oh, I see. So you weren't actually doing any of the fighting? Correct?" Iris wanted to make sure before she believed what her sister was telling her.
"Yes Iris."
"Alright then. Dinner will be ready about six or so."
"Alright thanks sis." She said, and walked to her room, setting her bag down, and laying on the bed, quickly falling into a deep sleep.
Time passed quickly, and she missed dinner. Her sister didn't mind, just putting the leftovers away in the fridge. She put a note in front on the front of the fridge stating that the food was in there, and all she needed to do was to heat it in the microwave.
By 6:30pm, Iris left the apartment for her second job. Kirika woke up around eight-thirty, nine-ish, getting up and walking to the fridge. She got out the food and heated it up. The thought of tomorrow was still be in her head, and she was, well, happy.
She ate a bit of it, leaving a little more than half of it on the plate, and went on her computer. She did some of her homework, and then chatted with some of her old friends from California. She went to sleep around midnight, about the same time her sister came home. She dreamt about what was going to happen in the morning, leaving a smile on her face.

If you are in a conflict, step up and admit that you want to change. If the other person(s) refuses change, then you can walk away knowing that you are the better person. From then on out, just smile at them when you see them and move on.
